We will review “wages”; “hours”; and provide lawyers and business people with tools to spot issues and solve problems as they arise. The discussion will include wage orders, overtime exemptions, salary issues, hours worked, meal and rest periods, and other emerging wage and hour issues.

Mr. Mazzia represents employers and employees in employment matters both as a counselor and in court. This experience includes jury trials, labor commissioner conferences and hearings, workplace investigations, and audits. Mr. Mazzia provides practical guidance to clients on wage and hour matters, and litigates where appropriate, including obtaining a jury verdict of over one million dollars on a wage claim against a large corporation.
Ms. Rooks provides guidance for both employers and employees on a wide variety of employment law matters. Her life experience of developing and operating her own small business, military service, and entrepreneurship give her a unique advantage in advising on employment matters. As an employment law attorney she strives to help her clients assess risk to find an appropriate balance between legal protection and real-world application.
