Johanna Kleppe

Johanna Kleppe, JD, MBA, CFLS
Certified Family Law Specialist
Empower Law Group

Before becoming an attorney, Johanna Kleppe lived in the corporate world, managed people, and dealt with problems connected to complex international business matters. While working, she volunteered at the Children & Family Law Center in San Rafael, California, and fell in love with the world of family law. Johanna wanted to apply her problem-solving abilities to deeply personal dilemmas such as divorce, custody, reunification, and domestic violence.
In 2000, Johanna Kleppe left the corporate world to attend law school. This was her first step toward devoting herself to families and children facing the legal process. Johanna also served on the legal referral panel for juvenile dependency in San Francisco and helped hundreds of parents and children facing the child welfare system. Through all this work, Johanna Kleppe realized that most families, regardless of income, face all-to-common challenges: interpersonal conflicts that interfere with family relationships, mental health challenges, substance abuse problems, depression, post-traumatic stress, and co-parenting conflicts.
Johanna Kleppe’s practice is now entirely focused on helping families and children navigate the sometimes complex and often confusing world of family law, guardianships, domestic violence, and reunification.
